It was dark outside, and pretty quiet too. Vash enjoyed that, he didn't like being around commotion, but he must admit, it gets pretty boring and lonely sometimes, especially since his little sister went to bed earlier than he did every night. Despite what others might think, or at least despite what he always claims, Vash doesn't always like being 'neutral'. Of course, avoiding others' problems makes life a whole lot easier and more enjoyable, but it also can get in the way of foreign relations and friendships, even if most countries got on his nerves. He sighed, resting his head on his folded arms and kept a gaze out the window, frowning.

Roderich was stuck in another one of his trance as he played his piano routinely at this time of night. The relaxing perfection that was the dear melody his piano made, filled the man's beating heart with joy and wonder. Roderich forgot his surroundings and only listened to the music he played which made him smile. Playing his masterpieces gave him hope in strength apart from his usual lonely and depressing life. He didn't spend too much time with his friends and often stayed to himself, which he sometimes regrets.

Vash assumed he could indeed go to bed, it was a reasonable time now, but he was restless, there would be no point and he would have sat in bed wide awake. Instead he decided to go outside and perhaps get some fresh air, and maybe be able to sleep afterwards. He made his way for the door, he found no need to take along his gun at this time of night, he assumed everyone would be asleep anyways. As he stepped out, a slight, cool breeze brushed against him, and he moved forward into the open. It wasn't long until he decided to take a small stroll along around the perimeter of his land (Hetalia distances are much smaller right? HE IS NOT GOING TO PATROL THE ENTIRE SWISS BORDER.). Soon enough, he could hear a rhythm in the distance, and as he approached he could make out the ringing keys of the piano coming from the home of his neighbor. Roderich can't be awake right now, could he? he thought, I guess it wouldn't hurt to listen a bit, as long as I don't make myself noticeable. After all, it's not like he can do much, he's basically been forced into neutrality himself. He laughed silently, and nearly monotone, before he found himself against the walls of the Austrian's home, trying to stay silent and invisible as he listening to the music.

When Roderich snapped out of his deep trance, he glanced up at the clock. It was half past midnight. He hadn't notice how quickly time had passed with hours passing as seconds in such a short time. He let out a small yawn then got up, deciding it would be best to sleep now. He could always play tomorrow so there was no penilty at all. Stretching, he was about to walk towards the door but paused, feeling strange.... There was someone here; he could feel it. Surely France nor Prussia would dare bother him so late at night, but a certain someone he knew might. Stepping over to the window, he poked his head out and looked down at who he guessed was there. "Vash?" He called. "It's rather late, don't you think? What are you doing?"

(SHIT I WAS CAUGHT)

As the music stopped, Vash was about to leave, but before he knew it, Roderich had stuck out his head and questioned him about his presence, and he jumped at the sudden appearance of the Austrian man. "I," he began, thinking of and excuse, "I don't know- why does it matter anyways?" He was obviously trying to sound like he didn't care, but the uncertain tone in his voice gave that away.

DUN. DUN. DUUUUUUUUUN.))

Roderich smiled at the Swiss and let out a chuckle. "Well this just so happens to be my house, along with my land," He stated nicely. "Were you perhaps listening to my music, by any chance?"

When questioned again, Vash tightened up. He was just generally uneasy about this stuff, and often just kept things in since he didn't like it when others knew he cared or had interest in certain things. "No way!" he grumbled, "Your taste in music stinks anyways."

Roderich ignored the rude comment and sighed. He knew Vash enjoyed his music and he was just lying; he tends to not show his emotions often. "It's cold outside, you know," He said. "Care to come inside for some coffee?"

Vash muttered to himself, frowning. "Whatever," he replied, before getting up and heading away from the window, but in fact, towards the Austrian's front door.

Roderich smirked then closed his window and left his music room, walking down the long, marble, hallway towards the massive lobby as he walked to the front door.

Vash walked in as the door was opened. His arms were crossed and he had a stubborn expression on his face. Refusing to make eye contact, he continuously stared at the floor and looked around to where he could take a seat. Goddammit, why do I have to be tired now of all times? It would have been much easier if I had already been tired when I was at home, he thought.

Roderich closed the door behind him then lead Vash to the fancy living room and sat on his couch. He had set out coffee and rich chocolate cake for the two of them before answering the door. Roderich took a bite out of his own slice of cake then sipped his coffee with his usual gentlemens' well mannered grace. He knew Vash would surely complain over his usual expensive taste but he didn't care; Roderich loved to be pampered.

Vash sat himself onto the couch Roderich had sat on, but refused to sit directly next to him and rather kept a distance between them. He sat there silently for a while before he gave in and took upon eating the cake and drinking the coffee, but never bothered to let out any sort of 'thank you' or any sort of speech for that matter.

Roderich set aside his coffee and cake then glanced over at Vash with a smile. "So Vash," He started. "What /were/ you doing over by my window if you were not listening to my music, if you don't mind me asking of course?"

(Noway.)

Vash's eyes remained looking down but when questioned again, they rather moved to the ground where Roderich was. "Fine, I was listening to your music, so what? I don't see why it matters," he spat.

"Well isn't odd to be stalking someone so late at night?" He asked, playfully. "For all I know, you could have been stalking me." Roderich snickered then sipped his coffee again.

"What?" Vash questioned Roderich's theory, "Why would I be stalking anyone, and more importantly why would I be stalking you of all people? I couldn't sleep so I went for a walk, which was interrupted by your stupid piano."

"Stupid piano?" Roderich questioned. "My music are masterpieces, Vash." He glared, slightly but then sighed and facepalmed.

"Says you," Vash said, rolling his eyes. "Anyways I should go. It's late and I'm tired."

(VASH YOU ARE A GENTLEMAN.)

"Well if you insist then," Roderich muttered then stood up.

Vash got up from the couch and made his way towards the door, letting himself out after looking back for a second two. The wind outside was cold, and he wasn't exactly dressed for this, but he continued in the direction of his home, looking forwards to laying in his warm bed.

Roderich frowned but soon got over it and walked to his room. He was use to Vash's harshness so it didn't bother him too much. He let out a final sigh before entering his room and going to bed.

Vash finally reached his home and made way to his bedroom. He slipped under the covers, and fell asleep in no time, happy to finally be able to rest.

It was the next night when Vash was stuck with the same problem of boredom and loneliness. Lili goes to bed awfully early, he thought, but I can't blame her, she is rather young, she needs a lot of sleep. To be honest, he did feel a bit regretful of the way he acted last night, or at least the way the night ended, but it's not like he was going to tell anyone that, or let them know for that matter. However, maybe if he went again they could leave off on better terms than they had before, maybe that way he wouldn't overly think about it. Before he knew it, Vash found himself outside once again, making his way towards Roderich's home, but feeling as if he should turn back the closer he got.

Roderich sat at his piano though surprisingly, he wasn't playing it. He had no inspiration to play anything tonight but rather, he felt bored. He didn't know why he felt this way which made things worst. He just leaned against his piano and stared at the clock, hoping something interesting would happen.

As Vash came close to Roderich's home, he was surprised there was no piano music being played. I wonder if he's asleep, I guess I will find out then. He walked up to the front door, standing there awkwardly for a bit, before he decided to knock.
