"Oh later on during the day; just a few hours after the big cats," Rais explained. He pulled out his binoculars to examine the gazelles at a distance and soon his smile grew. "Even better; they're tamed," He beamed, noticing the tags clipped to their ears. He got out the jeep and calmly walked over to the herd then came back, leading a young fawn and its mother back to the jeep. "Here, you can pet the baby and its mom," Rais said, already petting the mother to keep it more relaxed.

"Tamed?" Francis asked, when Rais had left the vehicle. Seeing him come back with the two gazelles, Francis stood up inside the Jeep, inching a bit closer to the side, and, when Rais had told him he could pet the two, he did so, leaning over and petting the younger one, a bit hesitantly at first.

"Papa relax!" Rais nagged, trying not to laugh at the man's hesitation. "They're not gonna hurt you! If they weren't tame they'd all be running away from us." Rais turned away, unable to hold back the urge as he bursted into a fit of laughter.

Silly French man.))

Looking up at Rais, Francis felt a bit more reassured now, with, of course, still a bit of worry left. "But they're still wild animals, aren't they?" he questioned softly, "In a way, I mean."

"Yes, yes they are, " Rais agreed, finally calmed down. He lean gently on the older man and watched him pet the young fawn. "I'll protect you if anything happens," He said. "......Scaredy cat." Rais burst into another laugh, unable to resist teasing his father. How couldn't he? The man looked up to was right beside him, practically trembling.

Francis puffed up slightly. "Well", he began, softly, yet defensively, "Well I'm not used to this kind of stuff," he pouted a bit, as if he were a young child, rather than the eldest of the two.

"Oh I know, I know~" Rais chuckled. He gave Francis a tight hug before letting the gazelles free, watching them return to their herd. "Well lets go," Rais said, stretching a bit. "If we're lucky, we could bumping into something more thrilling like the cheetahs or the lions!" His eyes shinned with ambition as he hopped back into the jeep, eagerly.

Returning back to his normal mood, Francis was brought into interest once more. "Sounds good," he assured, bringing back a small smile.

"Mhm~" Rais started the jeep up again and soon they were back on the wild trail of the savanna. The young man kept a close look out for any sort of big cat nearby but was surprised to find none so far. He smile faded to a frown until out the corner of his eye he did spot something else. There was something drawing closer through the grass that he couldn't quite identify. He stopped the jeep and squinted his eyes, attempting to get a better look. He waited carefully then almost jumped, noticing barely visible spots. He'd guess it was a cheetah, but why would it be drawing near. "Looks like we won't have to search much more," He whispered, nudging Francis lightly. "More like they found us instead..."

"Hmm?" Francis turned his head to look at what Rais was referring to. He didn't really see it quite yet, as the animals were hidden in the thicket. He turned his voice quiet, mimicking Rais, and whispered, "What's there?"

"Um.....Just some cats," He answered rather nervously followed by a frighted laugh. "Just..... just big cats." Rais took note as the cheetahs stopped in their tracks, lifting their heads to watch him. He counted three ahead; not exactly to his liking. Maybe they're just curious of us? But the harsh glares they sent burst Rais' thoughts. "Papa," he said. "What ever you do, don't panic."

"Panic?" Francis chuckled slightly, "But you said there was nothing to worry about, didn't you? Therefor everything should be fine. Don't start pulling my leg now! I won't get scared, don't worry~" And with that, he slowly rose up from his seat, leaning out of the Jeep slightly, proving to Rais that he indeed was not convinced, and not afraid.

Rais stared at Francis with an uneasy expression, regretting what he said earlier before he quickly pulled him back as he took note of him leaning out the jeep. "Dammit, Papa!" Rai muttered harshly. The cheetahs had drawn closer and were only a very small distance from the jeep now. If he didn't think of something soon, this would be the last time he and his father will ever see each other. Rai reached for his gun slowly to make sure Francis wouldn't noticed and placed it beside himself. He took a deep breath and gripped the steering wheel tightly. 3. 2. 1. Rai slammed down on the gas and soon he was speeding forward through the Savanna with no sense of direction what so ever. "Don't look back!" He yelled over the loud engine.

Rai, you screwed up you little shit. But that's ok. Screwing up is in the French blood.))

"What-" Francis was cut off by Rais suddenly stepping on it, and fell back slightly since he was caught by surprise from the sudden movement. "Is there something I did wrong?" He asked, "You did say there was nothing to worry about... didn't you?"

"Yes, yes I did; but now there is something to worry about so I take it back!" Rai yelled angrily. He kept glancing back into the rear view mirror, check to see if they were still being chased. Rai kept his gaze forward only to panic even more as he noticed the jeep begin to slow down. "Oh hell no," he muttered. "No no no no..."

Francis looked over, concerned, "Huh?" he questioned, "What's wrong?"

"We're out of gas!" Rais growled. "And perfect timing too." Rais got up in his seat and glared at the cheetahs that encircled the jeep. "Are you going to let us go or what?" Rais said as if they could even understand him. He got out the jeep, expecting to get attacked but the big cats stayed in their positions. "Hmph," he muttered, grabbing his bag and gun. They're never this keen on people.... What gives? "Come on Papa, we're walking." Rais called, leaving the jeep behind.

Francis looked around nervously, and at the cheetahs, then back to Rais. Slowly and hesitantly, he crawled out of the Jeep, still shifting his eyes around and watched where he stepped. Once he reached the ground, he huddled close to Rais, making sure there was never much of a gap between them.

Rais walked impatiently through the grassland, eagered to get back home. This "safari" turned into a life-threatening embarrassing disaster and he had to get back home before it gets too late. Though the sun brought them extreme heat, nightfall would be their worse enemy as they wouldn't be able to see any predators stalking around. The last thing that Rais dreaded the most would be to drag Francis' dead carcass back home with the guilt of his death on his shoulders. No. I won't let that happen; not without me dying first. He didn't look back at Francis, feeling too ashamed to show the man his face but he did listen closely to make sure he was still behind him as they kept walking. Luckly, Rais knows these lands like the back of his hand from growing up around here so it shouldn't take them long to get back except for the fact that they were on foot.

Francis continued to follow Rais, unsure if he should speak or not. Who knows, perhaps it could make Rais feel better? Or worse... He continued walking behind him, and, just as he was about to speak, his foot hit something, and before he knew it, he was on the ground.

Hearing the loud thud behind him, Rais assumed Francis had tripped and fallen. He sigh and turned around, looking down at the clumsy older man before helping him back up. It wasn't really a surprise really; Rais learned from a very young age that the French were often too foolish for their own good just as much as they were prideful. This curse just so happens to run in the family, but Rais must have missed it or something. He would never allow himself to show the slightest of fear in front of his father; he was a grown man now with his own country, not some little frightened child of a colony he use to be and he planned to keep it that way.

I'm a big kid now.))

"Merci," Francis mumbled, as Rais helped him get to his feet.

"Hm," Rais muttered expressionless, turning around and beginning to walk again silently.

Francis continued to follow Rais, peering at his surroundings wearily every now and then, and remained close to him.

Rais watched as the morning sun began to lower and based on it's location, he assumed it was passed noon. It would take them hours to get back home, maybe even days if they didn't take the chances of moving in the darkness of the night. Rais began feeling the effects of all this walking as began to grow tired, but he shook it off. He was determined to make it back without out any delays and his mind told him that stopping wasn't an option.
